Tile Mosaic Fragment

The oldest wall decorations in Islamic Spain were mosaics made of variously shaped coloured tile pieces arranged in intricate geometric patterns. This was a time-consuming and therefore expensive technique. Only the very rich could afford such wall mosaics.
