Carillon clockwork and playing drum

The abbey of Ename installed a carillon in 1660 in a new-built tower. On the second floor, we find the automated carillon, consisting of a large bronze drum, driven by the lead weight and a clockwork, consisting of a verge-and-foliot clock and ringing mechanisms for the hour and half hour, driven by three stone weights.
