Bas-relief from Ishtar gate, Babylon
Mušḫuššu is a creature from ancient Mesopotamian mythology. It is a scaly animal with the talons of an eagle, a lion's forelimbs, a long neck and tail, two horns on its head, a snake-like tongue, and a crest.
