Het verhaal van beroepsmilitair Jean Pierre Gerard.
The story of professional soldier Jean Pierre Gerard.
Jean Pierre Gerard was taken prisoner of war in August 1914 in the redoubt at Kalfort. He was transferred to the Lügumkloster in Silesia where he was employed as chef de cuisine for four years. From the camp he was able to send a photo postcard to his fiancée Alphonsine De Clerck. Jean Pierre came from Arlon. Since German was his second language, he could act as an interpreter.
