Portrait of Philip III, Crown Prince of Spain
Dated 1594, this monogrammed engraving shows the future King Philip III of Spain at the age of 17. Born on April 14, 1578, the fifth son of King Philip II of Spain and his fourth wife Anne of Austria, he became King Philip III of Spain in 1598.\nThe engraver and publisher Crispyn de Passe lived as a Mennonite in Cologne in the 1690s and ran a successful printing workshop there.\nText: A.
