Cotton shoulder cloth with satin like appearance with flowers and birds on a background of plaited bamboo mat

A badan ('body') framed with a red and a smaller blue stripe with floral motifs such as flowers, leaves and birds. The background motif of woven bamboo mat is called bilik (Heringa, 1996). Veldhuisen calls the cloth chintz. It was destined for export to Sumatra.
