Lampedusa's locals and refugees
Some 1,500 migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean to Italy were rescued in just one day over Easter off the island of Lampedusa. The island's locals have become accustomed to hundreds, even thousands, of migrants given refuge there. But many of them fear another tragedy like the one on October 3rd 2013, when more than 300 immigrants drowned. Angelo van Schaik reports.
