Tea caddy and cover, hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels and gilt, made by Meissen porcelain factory, Germany, ca. 1730.
Tea caddy and cover of hard-paste porcelain. Rectangular, with flat circular cover. Painted on the large sides with harbour scenes in purple and framed by gilt scrolls enclosing panels of lustre and yellow-green, and iron-red feathery foliage. The smaller side filled with rocky landscapes in purple. On the shoulder scroll and lattice cartouches with chinoiserie figures in purple. Gilt edges.
