Hornsgatan by Night
Eugène Jansson was a landscape artist who painted city views. He is most famous for his nocturnal views in deep-blue shades, where the streetlights blend with other elements of the urban scene in a way that makes familiar places seem foreign and new. In Hornsgatan at Night, the gaslights create swirls and waves along the empty Stockholm street.
