A salvaged remnant of a Jewish gravestone that once stood in the Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery. The cemetery was established in the 1830s. During the Second World War the occupying German forces murdered approximately 26,000 Jews and began to clear headstones from the cemetery to use the land for their own purposes.
