Nightcap
In former times, when houses were unheated, it was customary to wear a nightcap in bed. This one has a
knitted, scalloped edge with a repeating pattern of a potted shrub. On the crown, birds with long tail feathers
face each other. A small knitted tab on the top of the cap serves as ornamentation.
