In the centre a huge intricate clock, standing on earth, but with its open and visible wheel-work and dial and bell in heaven. In the four corners of the dial the four traditional symbols of the evangelists; angle, eagle, lion, bull.The goddess Attemprance, resting on the clouds, dressed in red, is winding the clock.
