Figure Sculpture (Sedes Sapentia)

This seated Madonna and Child is possibly French or Spanish in origin. It is often referred to as 'Seded Sapentia' which means 'Throne of Wisdom'. The Madonna is dressed in a long gown with loose hanging cuffs and is veiled.
