Hair ornament with gold parts

The silver used was obtained by melting down Spanish, Mexican and Japanese silver coins. The objects were made to order and the customer had to supply the material himself. A goldsmith also made simple and cheap jewellery for sale on the market (Sibeth 1991:181).
